Statistics: Nov business confidence index falls in mineral production

MOSCOW, Nov 28 (PRIME) -- Russia’s business confidence index increased by 1 percentage point on the year in the processing industries in November but fell by 3 percentage points in the mineral production sector, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Thursday.

“The business confidence index, which reflects the generalized state of entrepreneurial activity from November 2018 till November 2019: fell by 3 points to minus 4% in the extraction sector and rose by 1 point to minus 5% in the processing industry,” the service said.

The economic situation in a company was seen favorable by 13% and satisfactory by 73% of managers in production of raw materials, while the figures for the processing industry stood at 11% and 74%, respectively.

A better situation in the next six months was expected by 21% of respondents in the mineral production industry and 24% in the processing industry. The number of optimists in the mineral production sector exceeded the amount of pessimists by 12 percentage points, and in the processing industry by 16 percentage points.
